Update on my current projects

Hello Readers, I thought I'd drop in and give y'all a few current updates on what's been going on in the writing world!
Mission Impossible Update

Luther: You really think we can do this.
Ethan Hunt: We're going to do it.
One down. One to go. If you read my last post, you will know that I decided to do something crazy (and appropriately named it M.I.) But, I plan on finishing my Mission, just like our hero in all 6... no 7... However many movies he's had. (They never end)
For those of you who have not read the previous post, the M.I. is as follows:
Mission: Re-write, edit, format, design covers for, print, and publish 2 books BEFORE December of THIS YEAR so that I can release them as a Christmas special... (and also for a personal reason of my own which I won't disclose because it's a surprise. 😉)
I started said Mission on June 3rd. As of August 16th, I have written, formatted, finished digital designs for, made the cover of, and printed the proof copy of book 1. Said proof copy should be arriving in the next week or so, and then I'll do one last, hard edit. (One of my M.I. team members helpfully went through and marked down all my personal "buzz" words that I use way to often. Apparently the word "brutal" was used 6 times in the first few pages of one chapter. 😬)
Book 2 was started August 12th and I am currently about to start writing Chapter 25. So, if all goes well, we shall complete the mission! Had a couple snags here and there, but not too many, thankfully. Smaug has been behaving himself, (thank goodness). I hope that my next update on this project will be to say that the Mission in complete. We'll have to see.....
Time flies fast, or so I have found..... (especially when you have an ultra crazy deadline.)
Historical Fiction

Writing HisFic has continued to be a new and exciting challenge, and I think I may have discovered my favorite genera to write. (Which fits since it's my favorite to read) The minute I finished my first WWII novel I had ideas for a sequel, and before that was even half way done, I had uncovered more historical facts, crazy stories, amazing heroes, and a whole bucket of new book ideas. The amount of plots I have lined up would keep anyone busy for a few years. It is the hardest thing in the world to stick to what I'm currently writing when 50+ new story ideas, characters, plot twists, and scenes have suddenly invaded my thinking space, demanding attention.
I have locked them all up in the back of my mind or written them down in notebooks to go back to when I finish my current list of projects, but they won't stay quiet, and they like to sneak out and dance around the bedroom at night when I'm trying to sleep. Sneaky characters.
Anyways, all that to say, my HisFic days are far from over. I'd love to redeem several well-known plot ideas that end up so cheesy or inappropriate. (like the idea of a relationship between a Nazi and a Jewish girl) It's one we all know, but I'd like to do it in a way that honors God, is pure, and is also historically accurate to what would have even happened at that time. Anyways, that one's on the shelf for a bit because I've got several more lined up... and they all have to wait until M.I. is finished or I'll never be able to complete it on time.
A vivid imagination can be a blessing and a curse... and it's times like this when I wish it was possible to write 50 stories at once that I almost wish I didn't get so many story ideas at once. If only they would be polite and come one at a time... alas, it is not to be.
Well, I had better get back to M.I.
I've had a few requests for reading lists, some background and behind the scenes on a few of my books, and maybe some fun competitions, so I have those in store. Keep an eye out for them.
That's all for today folks. Sorry it's so short, but I've got to keep plugging away at this project until it's done!
