Writing update

Hello everyone! It's been a minute. Life has been busy, and a lot has been going on, but I think I am finally to the point where it's safe to say that I have a treat for y'all.....
3... 2... 1... SURPRISE!
I have hinted over the last year... (?) or so, that I have started a new genre. I also hinted that I was going to be releasing some adult fiction along with YA. Well, I still hope to do both, (maybe even this year.... 🤫🤭) But right now I am excited to announce that there is a new book about to release... and YES! It's WWII Historical Fiction!
The cover reveal will be happening in two days and the countdown clock is ticking as I write, so don't miss out on a glimpse of the brand new cover... the beginning of a new writing era for me! Check that out on the WHP Home Page!

A Little About The Book...
No, this isn't the SNEAK PEEK..... yet. (but there will be one soon) and it isn't character reals or aesthetics... yet. (but those are coming soon as well.) This is just a little bit about the book in general. It was started in... *checks the proof copy* 2025, and it seems as though it has taken ages to publish this one. History is very important to me, but as I've mentioned before, finding the balance between Fiction and a History Research Paper, is a little hard for me to do. But, I think that I've finally made some headway, and once this book was written and had beta readers and editors at it for over a year, I felt pretty secure in my new genre and went on to write.... but no, that's for later. 🙃
However, there are some fun facts about this book that y'all might find interesting.
Fun fact number 1; it was edited by a British editor who is actually living in places where some of this history took place, (and she could correct any of my British slang I got wrong. XD) I found that working with her on this was a really nice touch. If I'm going to write about a place, I like to have seen it myself, and the next best thing to that is having an editor who lives there. (That came into play later on a lot more than in the beginning, but even the fact that she was in Europe helped with a little cultural cross-over, like the fact that they use military time for everyday things 🤯)
Fun fact number 2; this book, the first ever of my WWII historical fictions, takes place in.... Germany. Yep, right there in the Nazi's back yard. Why? Because I like to dig down and find the stories that have been most forgotten. We all know about the RAF, about American GIs, about Normandy beaches, about the French Resistance... but what about the fact that not all of Germany was Nazi?
When I say WWII Germany, you think, "Nazis". And I'm afraid that reputation was more than earned in many ways. However, not every German was a Nazi, and not everyone living in Germany was German... some of the bravest, craziest, courageous stories took place right there in the heart of Germany. You often have to dig deep, and the Nazis wanted to make sure those stories never came to light. But they're there. And while this book isn't based on real events (character wise) the characters and the things that they did were drawn straight from records, letters, journals, and word of mouth stories. In fact, I loved writing about this so much that I decided.... ah, we'll wait for that. 😉
Fun fact number 3; ready? You guessed it! This book is only part one of a trilogy! Yes, not only is this my first Historical Fiction, but it will be the first series I publish! I'm pretty excited about that, and I look forward to seeing how everyone enjoys it! Book 2 will hopefully follow book 1 not too long after, so you all won't have to die of waiting a year or more between books! (Which is the literal worst. I should know. 😂)
Fun fact number 4; I was sitting at my desk doing the final edits. The book needed to be submitted to the printers by Monday.... and then I texted a friend and said, "I'm going to illustrate it." That was Thursday evening. By Friday I had all the concept sketches. By Saturday they were finished and I was uploading them all. By Monday the book was in the printer's hands. With Illustrations! 🎉
So now I am publishing my first HisFic, first series, and first books with illustrations. It's a lot of firsts.

Day 1 concept sketches.

A Little Something For the collectors
(and coffee/tea drinkers)
And now, last but not least. WHP has decided to start offering more collectors items and merchandise, etc. So I've started designing mugs that they have been releasing. We are starting a new collectors series, 1 mug per book! Each book I release will have a matching mug to go with it! The mug will have a quote (or several quotes) and often a picture related to an event, symbol, or character from the book!
If you love hot drinks like tea, hot coco, coffee... 😑 (lol) Or you like eating things like ice cream from a mug or using it as a water cup.... or you just like collections, these are a great, fun option! I really love how they've turned out and I can't wait line them all up on my desk. 😄
We are also discussing stickers, notebooks, and maybe T-shirts or sweaters. If there is something that you have really wanted, please leave a comment at the bottom of this post or write a request on the Contact page. We'll keep your suggestions in mind as we work together to release some cool new items!
For now, go check out the mugs on the store page! If you buy the whole set you save.... well, a lot! (I don;'t feel like mathing right now. lol) Or you can get an individual cup. I think you can even buy a cup and book together, though I'll have to double check that.
Well, that's all for now, but I am excited to hear what you all think! And I am very excited to release more sneak peeks, updates, and other fun announcements about the new book!
God Bless and have a wonderful day!
P.S. What would you like to read more of? A part 3 on my book recommendations lists. (Check out Part 1 and Part 2) A Part 2 on Flipping bad Troupes? (Read Part 1) Or movie reviews (Check out the last one) Or something else entirely? Let me know in the comments!
