Meet The Characters

Characters and writing.

A lot goes into writing a book, and one of the most important things is character design and development. If you are going to commit to spending a whole book (or sometimes more) with someone, they had better be an interesting someone. In fact, I would be willing to argue that I spend more time developing my characters than the plot or world. If I know who the characters are and how they will respond, it is far more easy to have a loser plot outline because the characters themselves and the choices they will make become the safe-guards that my plot can't cross. For instance, if I have a married character, a romance between him and another character is impossible because I already have him married. If I have a character who is scared to death of heights, she will do all she can to avoid heights, which means that a good climax in her arc must involve heights. etc.

And those are just big examples, but they go from huge to so tiny the readers may not even know about them. I have lots of notebooks, random sheets of paper, and sketches for each story and they end up mostly being about characters. Those papers end up filling a manila envelope by the end of the day and can be both fun and a little shocking to look through. 🤣

However, today something exciting is going to happen. You all will get a peek at some of the characters in my upcoming set of books that are about to release! Yes! You guessed it! I'm talking about the MI project. It's coming along at a lovely pace, and let's just say that Mission Impossible might just become possible.... but no hopes up yet! Anything could go wrong before the end of the adventure. But, despite any dark foreshadowing or worries, you all get the privilege of meeting three characters! And, if you enjoy that, I might have to let you meet some more on my next post!

So, without further ado.....
